# Delete all emails from one sender in Gmail — Zen Inbox Cleaner

**This is the cleanest mass delete there is** — one sender, zero ambiguity about what you're removing. Gmail handles it in three moves, and a fourth stops that sender's mail for good.

## Delete everything they've ever sent you

1. In the search bar, type `from:` followed by the sender's email address — Gmail's operator reference describes `from:` as "Find emails sent from a specific person." The full address (`from:deals@example.com`) is more precise than a name; if you search a name with spaces in it, put it in quotes (`from:"Big Store"`) so Gmail treats it as one phrase.
2. Check the **Select box** at the top left — "To select all messages on the current page, at the top left, above your messages, check the Select box." — then click the notification link above the messages: "To select all conversations, click the link in the notification." Now every email from that sender is selected, not just the first page.
3. Click **Delete**. Per Google's documentation: "When you delete a message in Gmail, it's moved to Trash." — recoverable for 30 days, permanently deleted after that.

## Now stop the future ones — pick the right tool

- **Block** — for senders with no working unsubscribe; Gmail's help covers blocking an address, and blocked mail routes to Spam.
- **A filter that deletes on arrival** — the automatic option. From your `from:` search, Google's filter help says: "At the bottom of the search window, click Create filter", then choose the delete action. You can change your mind later under Settings: "Click Filters and Blocked Addresses", then "Click Edit or Delete to remove the filter."

## Storage note

If you're deleting a sender to reclaim space: the space comes back only after Gmail's Trash clears (30 days, or empty it now), and heavy attachments matter far more than message count.
