Most Gmail trouble comes down to one of two things: your storage is full, or your inbox is. These pages answer both kinds honestly — including the ones where our own app is not the fix. We make a Gmail cleaner; a full Google account is often full of photos, not email, and we would rather tell you that than sell you something that can't work.
First, diagnose
- Is it your phone or your Google account that's full? — two different storage systems get confused constantly. One-minute check for each, and where to go next.
Google account storage (the shared 15 GB)
- Google storage full — what actually works — find which product is actually full, then the free fixes in the order they pay off.
- "Your Gmail storage is X% full" — what that warning really means — it names Gmail, but it's about your shared Google storage. Check before you delete anything.
- Gmail can't receive emails? — a full account bounces incoming mail. How to confirm it and the fastest safe way back.
- Does deleting emails actually free up storage? — yes, but not right away. Trash, the 30-day wait, and the meter lag, explained.
When it isn't email
- Google Photos is eating your storage — the most common real culprit, and the free tools Google gives you to fix it.
- Google Drive is full — find the big files, empty the right Trash, get the space back without paying.
Cleaning up
- How to mass delete emails in Gmail — the hidden select-all-that-match link, and what Trash really does.
- How to delete all Promotions emails in Gmail — four clicks for the whole tab, and why it refills.
- How to delete all emails from one sender — from: search, select all, delete; then stop their future mail.
- How to unsubscribe from emails in Gmail — the button, the Manage subscriptions screen, and what unsubscribing doesn't do.
- What is Inbox Zero — what Merlin Mann actually meant, a realistic method, and whether you need it at all.
Take 10 seconds: the Email Hoarder Calculator — your inbox's storage damage and your official hoarder rank.
The Gmail mechanics here are grounded in Google's own documentation and in what our app can verify against the Gmail API. If an answer looks wrong or out of date, tell us: support@zeninboxcleaner.com.
