Terms of Service — Zen Inbox Cleaner

Welcome to Zen Inbox Cleaner. By downloading, accessing, or using our application ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before using the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Zen Inbox Cleaner, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the App. We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date and, where appropriate, notify users through the App or its App Store / Google Play listings. Your continued use of the App after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction) to use Zen Inbox Cleaner. By using the App, you represent that you meet this age requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. You must also have a valid Google account to use the App's core features.

3. Description of Service

Zen Inbox Cleaner is an on-device mobile application available on Android and iOS, designed to help users manage and clean bulk and subscription emails — primarily those in Gmail's Promotions, Social, and Updates category tabs, along with newsletters and mailing lists identified through standard email headers (such as List-Unsubscribe and List-ID).

The App connects to your Gmail account via the official Google Gmail API, using three OAuth scopes — gmail.modify, gmail.settings.basic, and userinfo.email — to:

Read email metadata (sender, subject, date, and unsubscribe-related headers) to group and display emails for your review;
Move user-selected emails to your Gmail Trash folder on your explicit confirmation;
Optionally help you unsubscribe from senders, using the standard unsubscribe mechanism specified in the sender's email headers (RFC 2369 / RFC 8058). Depending on what the sender supports, this may involve the App sending a single standard one-click POST request on your behalf, opening the sender's unsubscribe page in a secure in-app browser, or opening your email client with a pre-filled message. In every case, the actual processing of the unsubscribe is performed by the sender, not by the App;
Optionally create Gmail filters to automatically trash future emails from senders you choose to block ("Cleanup Rules");
Identify your Google account email address at sign-in (userinfo.email), used as a stable per-account identifier so that account switches cleanly clear previous-account data and the Settings screen can display the signed-in account.

4. License Grant

Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to install and use Zen Inbox Cleaner on a device you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial use.

5. Free Tier, Zen Pro, and Purchases

Free tier. The App is free to download and use. The free tier includes cleaning up to 2,500 emails (a lifetime tally per account) and up to 3 Cleanup Rules.
Zen Pro. "Zen Pro" is an optional one-time, non-subscription in-app purchase that removes the free-tier limits (unlimited cleaning and unlimited Cleanup Rules) for your account. There is no recurring charge, no auto-renewal, and no subscription.
Billing is handled by the platform. Purchases are processed entirely by Apple (App Store, via StoreKit) on iOS and Google (Google Play Billing) on Android, under their respective terms. We never receive your payment method or billing details. Prices are shown in the App in your local currency as set by the platform and may vary by region.
Restore. You can restore a previous Zen Pro purchase at any time via "Restore Purchase" in the App's Settings, using the platform's standard restore mechanism. On iOS, Zen Pro supports Apple Family Sharing.
Refunds. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their standard store policies; we do not process payments and cannot issue refunds directly. Requests should be made through the App Store or Google Play refund process.
No additional permissions. The Zen Pro upgrade requires no additional Google OAuth scopes and introduces no third-party billing SDKs; see the Privacy Policy for how entitlement data is handled.

6. User Responsibilities

Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and the device on which Zen Inbox Cleaner is installed.
Review Before Deletion: You are solely responsible for reviewing emails before selecting them for deletion. Emails moved to Trash by the App remain there for 30 days (per Google's standard policy), after which Google permanently deletes them. You may restore them at any time during that 30-day window via the Gmail app or website.
Cleanup Rules: If you create Cleanup Rules, you acknowledge that these are stored as standard Gmail filters on your Google account and will continue to function even if you close the App, uninstall it, or revoke its access to your Google account. You are responsible for removing any unwanted filters, either from within the App's Cleanup Rules screen or directly in Gmail (Settings → Filters and Blocked Addresses).
Lawful Use: You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.

7. Prohibited Uses

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law;
Modify, adapt, translate, or create derivative works based on the App;
Use the App to violate any applicable law or regulation, or to infringe the rights of any third party;
Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair Google's services or the Gmail API;
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any account, system, or network connected to the App;
Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to interact with the App outside its intended user interface;
Circumvent, or attempt to circumvent, the free-tier limits or the platform's in-app purchase mechanisms;
Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the App or its functionality without our prior written consent.

8. Privacy and Data Usage

Your privacy is our priority. Zen Inbox Cleaner does not use any external servers operated by us — all processing happens locally on your device, communicating directly with Google's Gmail API. Our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. For full details, please review our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual Property

Zen Inbox Cleaner, including its source code, design, user interface, branding, logos, and all related content, is owned by the developer and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right, title, or interest in or to the App other than the limited license granted in Section 4.

10. Third-Party Services and No Affiliation with Google

The App relies on the Google Gmail API and Google Sign-In to function. Your use of these services is also subject to Google's Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

Zen Inbox Cleaner is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or otherwise officially connected to Google LLC. "Gmail," "Google," and related marks are trademarks of Google LLC.

We are not responsible for any changes, outages, errors, rate limits, or modifications to Google's services or APIs that may affect the functionality, availability, or performance of Zen Inbox Cleaner.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties

Zen Inbox Cleaner is provided "as is" and "as available" without any warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy.

We do not warrant that:

The App will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available at all times;
The App will perfectly or accurately categorize, identify, or classify any email;
Any defects in the App will be corrected;
The results obtained from the use of the App will meet your expectations.

You use the App at your own risk.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Zen Inbox Cleaner and its developers shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, emails, profits, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any and all claims arising out of or related to the App or these Terms shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us, if any, to use the App in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim, or (b) ten US dollars ($10).

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the developer of Zen Inbox Cleaner from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your use or misuse of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; or (c) your violation of any applicable law or the rights of any third party.

14. Termination

You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it from your device and revoking its access to your Google account via your Google Account Security Settings.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or applicable law, or if continued provision of the App becomes impractical for technical, legal, or business reasons.

Upon termination, the license granted to you in Section 4 will immediately cease. Sections 9 (Intellectual Property), 11 (Disclaimer of Warranties), 12 (Limitation of Liability), 13 (Indemnification), 15 (Governing Law), and 16 (General) will survive termination.

15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App shall be resolved exclusively in the competent courts of India, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

16. General

Entire Agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and the developer regarding the use of Zen Inbox Cleaner and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
No Waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
Assignment: You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights granted hereunder without our prior written consent. We may freely assign these Terms.
